In January 2023 Cottenham Parish Council declared a Climate and Ecological Emergency and set up a working group with interested parties such as On The Edge Cottenham and Sustainable Cottenham to work on an action plan.
On the Edge Cottenham is holding a second Village Climate Forum at 7pm Wednesday 28th June at Cottenham Village Hall on the Recreation Ground, Lambs Lane. Cottenham residents will be able to find out about factors affecting flooding, opportunities for community-based environmental projects and hear about the Climate And Ecological Emergency.
A useful booklet has been published by Cambridgeshire County Council giving information on how householders can improve their energy efficiency (and hence reduce carbon emissions). In addition to information about domestic energy efficiency and renewable energy upgrades, it provides details of available sources of funding to help you reduce your carbon footprint.
